I was flying down to a shoot on Friday and opened up the Alaska Air magazine and find one of my photos from last summer large and in charge. Love seeing my favorite pictures get used and love seeing them huge in a magazine!

Monday night was the season opener for the Portland Timbers. It was pouring rain – as nearly every Timbers game is – and the boys in green won 3-1. I was soaked, but got some great pictures, included rookie Andrew Jean-Baptiste’s goal (top) after which the Timbers Army let off tons of green smoke (bottom right) which looked just awesome. The pre game tifo (bottom left) was also spectacular. Here is the full game gallery.

I shot these portraits of Jeff this morning downtown. He is a local composer who needed some portrait for his PR, etc. Cool dude. Here are a couple of the shots that I like. For you photo nerds out there, they were each shot with a 70-200 and 2 canon speed lights.

This week the Timbers put up some new billboards around town to promote the upcoming 2012 season. Here are a couple that I have seen thus far. What I love about these is that 1) they are HUGE 2) there is no txt, they let the photo do the talking and 3) they used 2 of my favorite photos from last year (Timber Joey and the First Log Slabs). The other thing that is cool is Eric Brunner (center in the log slab photo) told me at the end of last year that was his favorite photo of the season and Joey said the same about his photo. Take a look if you drive across the Burnside Bridge, or north on Macadam Ave.
