My spring got off to a great start today, I shot the 2-time national champion Oregon State Beavers play Georgia at PGE Park. You would not have guessed it while driving downtown in the pouring rain, but after a 30 minute delay to start the game, it was sunny, blue skies, not too cold, great early spring baseball weather (for Portland anyway). In the 7th inning it rained pretty hard and caused another 45 minute delay, but them the sun came out again and we had some pretty nice light in the late innings. I managed to make a few nice frames, bring on more baseball! The Beavers played like crap and lost the game, but a Pac-10 record 10,500+ came out to the park.

I kept praying to the photo gods that a double play would go down in this light but this is as close as it got.

The new Turf at PGE Park was put in just 48 hours ago and looks great. Here’s to more sunshine and spring sports!
