Will You Marry Me?

Friday, July 29th, 2011

I have shot close to 400 weddings in my career, but never before have I shot an actual proposal. So when Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe called me up and asked me to be part of his elaborate plan to propose to his long time girlfriend Felicia, I was excited. And an elaborate plan it was! With the help of teammate Freddie Braun, he found the perfect location up at Council Crest. They setup a ton of flowers and had planned it all out to be just perfect. Freddie and I hid behind some trees in the park while Darlington brought her up. It was nerve racking sitting back there knowing what was about to go down and waiting for the big moment! Brought back memories of when I proposed to Jenn over a decade ago! I can only imagine how nervous he was!

She had no idea and was totally surprised. Then Freddie and I came out of hiding while she was still in shock and she began to realize this trip to Council Crest – D told her it was for a team BBQ – was just for her. Pretty cool. Congrats guys!

Melissa & Steve – July 23, 2011

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

Some images I like from Melissa and Steve’s wedding at Postlewaits Farm in Canby, Oregon last weekend. My 3rd trip to the venue this month alone. It’s a good thing that is such a great venue! I really enjoy shooting there. Great open shade, great landscape and always great light. They have two small children already and the kids played a big role in the wedding. Being a father of two young kids myself, I thought it was great and loved all the kids running around at the wedding. Congrats guys!

Last weekend was a busy one for us. The studio photographed 3 great events over the two days. First was Monica and Steve at the Abernathy Center in Oregon City.

Sunday, our Associate Wedding Photographer Tom Boyd shot up in Woodland (above).

Also on Sunday, Craig and Liz shot at Postlewaits Farm in Canby. Congratulations to all our brides and grooms!

July Starts With a Bang!

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Last weekend was the first weekend in July. We finally got some nice weather and I was super busy! The weekend started off with a great wedding at Postlewait’s Farm in Canby. I love that location. Scenic, great light, and a super colorful wedding. I loved all the decor.

The next day, the Portland Timbers hosted Sporting Kansas City. The weather was great yet again, a rarity thus far for Timbers home games.

However, the result was not good for the home team. Despite Darlington Nagbe’s amazing goal, the Timbers lost 2-1. Here is a gallery of images from the game. They are winless in the last 6 games. Hopefully they get it turned around against Seattle this weekend.

Last but not least, we ended the weekend with a destination wedding. The destination was Portland. The Edgefield to be exact. Most everyone was from Mississippi and the bride and groom live in San Francisco. Nobody was local and it was a very cool event. July is not slowing down anytime soon, 5 more weddings and 6 more Timbers game still yet to come this month! Stay Tuned!
