2017 Internship

 (Craig Mitchelldyer)

We are now accepting applications for our 2017 summer internship.

Come and work for one of the busiest photo studios in Oregon. Studio clients include 5 different sports teams, magazines, newspapers, wedding clients, corporate clients, commercial clients and more. This is a paid internship, working about 20-25 hours per week. This is a shooting and assisting position. You will work directly with Craig Mitchelldyer on various shoots and events and be sent out on assignments on your own, including Portland Timbers, Portland Thorns and Hillsboro Hops games, community events and player appearances. You will also be assisting on editorial and commercial shoots and editing/captioning various assignments.

Preference is given to current college students or recent grads.

We are looking for a person with solid shooting skills – strong sports portfolio is a must – who can work independently when needed, be on time and professional. You will be representing the studio and our clients when you are in the community and on assignment.

Former Mitchelldyer Photography interns have gone on to work for other sports teams, like the Arizona Diamondbacks, Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers and Oregon State Beavers. Some have moved on to work for newspapers and/or have successful freelance careers.

During this internship you will learn valuable skills including shooting and transmitting on tight deadlines, working with a variety of different clients with different needs, and most importantly, the business of photography. Limited pool gear is provided if you do not have your own.

Start times can be flexible, the beginning/middle of May until the end of August is typical.

To apply, please send a cover letter, resume and links to your portfolio to jobs@craigmitchelldyer.com with the subject line “INTERN”.

We are also hiring for a permanent studio assistant job. (http://blog.craigmitchelldyer.com/2017/01/18/job/) The right intern could possibly fill both roles, creating a full time position.
