Clip: Washington State Dental Association Magazine
A couple months ago, we were brought up to Seattle to shoot the cover and 7 inside pages of the new director of the University of Washington School of Dentistry for the Washington Dental Association’s magazine. I had never been on the UW campus before so before the shoot I just spent a few hours walking around looking at different places to shoot. What a great campus. No shortage of photo ops for sure. I eventually found an area in Red Square that worked out great. I knew we needed a LOT of variety to fill a cover and 7 inside pages. The challenge with needing to shoot variety and having a lot of equipment is mobility. Luckily, the area I found worked perfectly. All of these images were shot with a 20 foot radius in Red Square. The bench and cover photos, the subject never even moved. For the double truck opener, he got off the bench and walked about 3 steps to his left. All in all, I’m pretty happy with how the shoot went and all the huge photos in the magazine too. Here is how the inside pages looked in print:

Great shots! Although – did the mag cut off the top of his head in the 2nd shot? Nonetheless – really nice!! (Did you do any uber-creative shots that they didn’t use?)

I think the PDF’s are clipped a little. I have only seen these and the cover looks cropped too tight too, so I think the digital versions just left some off the top. I’m hoping.
