Pictures are worth 1000 words…
…in English, or Romanian!
Last month I shot a traditional Romanian wedding. The ceremony was 2.5 hours long and not an ounce of English was spoken. I had absolutely zero idea was was going on, what was being said, when things were going to happen, etc, etc. I could only rely on my instincts and reading body language. Towards the end of the ceremony, everyone stood up and the bride and groom held hands. They were off to the corner of the stage and the church was shaped in a way I could be behind them without being on stage and still behind the guests sitting in the pews. As I was shooting them, again having no idea if this was a vow exchange, or the end of the ceremony or what, I saw her parents and I could see how happy and proud they were and it is one of my favorite images of the day (photo in upper left corner). Here are a few of my other favorites from the day, including a few by my associate shooter Thomas Boyd.
