B. Roy’s Comeback

Thursday’s game was a nightmare. Saturday was a dream come true for Blazer fans. At the last minute, the team activated Brandon Roy, who had knee surgery just 8 days earlier. The team and the arena was instantly energized just from watching him warm up. When he got off the bench to check into the game, the team went on a 9-2 run while he was at the scorers table. Just having him stand up seemed to do the trick. The team rallied, LaMarcus Aldridge scored 31 and the series is tied 2-2. The above photo is from late in the fourth quarter after Roy hit a key three pointer.
More photos after the jump…

I also setup a remote camera on the backboard. Here is a photo of Jerryd Bayless from that remote. The NBA limits the amount of cameras on the backboard during the playoffs, so I was assigned the pool position, meaning I had to share my images with all the major agencies (AP, Reuters, EPA, etc).

Another one of Brandon from the first half. Nice to have him back in the lineup. Game 6 at the Rose Garden on Thursday. A side note, Canon hooked me up with a new Mark IV to shoot with during the playoffs. The remote photo is from my 5D Mark II, but the B. Roy shots were with the Mark IV. I’m loving that camera.
