Blazers, Clippers, Trades and B. Roy

Lots of things going on in the land of the Trailblazers yesterday. The least of which was a game against the Clippers. The Blazers pretty much cruised to a victory but not before grabbing headlines around the NBA. Click the jump for some more photos…

Before every game, after player intros, Jeff Pendergraph gets in the middle of the huddle and jumps around like a freak and yells some stuff to get the team fired up. Its pretty entertaining as you can see by the smiles on the faces of the players.
As you know by now, the team made a 3 player trade for Marcus Camby, sending Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw to the Clippers. Ironically, the Blazers and Clippers played each other the same day as the trade. I really wish the players involved would have played, but they did not.

The other big storyline of this game was that All-Star Brandon Roy would play after missing 15 games with a hamstring injury. 30 minutes before the game he said he would not play, but then changed his mind right before game time. He looked good on one play, but really seemed to be favoring the hammy and came out of the game. I looked over at the bench and saw his leg was all wrapped up. He didn’t come back in the second half. With only 25 or so games left in the season, I would not be surprised if he didn’t come back.

As I mentioned earlier, the big story was the trade, so I needed to get a photo of Camby. He was shown on the big screen and introduced to the crowd and they gave him a standing ovation, which he appeared to enjoy. This photo is in today’s USA Today.

I am heading up to the Olympics for a few days this week, so blogging will be a bit behind but hopefully I will make a photo or two worth posting while I am up there.
