New Portland Beavers Manager
This morning I took some photos of new Portland Beavers manager Terry Kennedy. Click the jump for more info and a lighting diagram…
The lighting idea for this shoot came to me a coupe of days ago in the middle of the night, about 3am. Luckily for me, I keep my trusty iphone next to the bed and used the Strobox program to quickly diagram out the idea:
When I got to the stadium I went down to the locker room and set it up exactly how I had at 3am two days ago. A small softbox as the main light and three lights with 20 degree grids to spot light the jersey’s hanging in the lockers. I like it! What do you think?

I really like the uni-directional aspect of the lighting. It almost looks as if a single source is cascading across the room, hitting the jersey logos, and the GM’s face all on the same plane. Thanks for sharing–I enjoy your diagrams!

I like the flow created by the lighting of the background that leads you right to Kennedy. The eyes travels left to right across the jerseys straight to the manager’s face. Good movement in a static photo.

I love the lighting. Unfortunately the bat disappears on my computer screen. I did enlarge the view to make sure it was there though. Thanks for the lighting diagram!
