Baseball Civil War – Part 2

The second game today had a much better forecast. It rained and hailed a bit at the beginning, but then the same came out to stay and it was a great day. Once again the crowd was huge, 13,700 on Sunday, so I wanted to make sure to show the crowd. I shot this image with a fisheye lens from the offices on the top of the suites at the very top of the stadium.

This game had much more action right off the bat. There was a play at the plate in the first inning. This image is from a remote camera ( a 5D with a 300 2.8) on the third base side. Love it when you make a photo on a remote in the very first inning!
The Beavers scored 4 runs in the first 2 inning’s and never looked back.

Beavers pitcher Jorge Reyes was lights out, giving up just 2 hits in seven inning’s.

Nothing was bouncing the Ducks way and the Beavers had all the answers, and made a lot of plays that made for some nice photos.

Back to the fans, I made it a point to shoot the crowd during the game and when a foul ball went into section 109 in the 6th inning, I shot this. I love looking at the expressions on all the faces of the people around the ball. Looking forward to some more baseball games real soon. Click on any image to see a larger version.
