Lighting Workshop – FREE!

Mitchelldyer Photography Workshops: Lighting To Create Dramatic Portraits

Have you ever wanted to learn how to create a dramatic portrait?

Need help with your off camera lighting skills?

Want to know how to make great portraits with just a minimum amount of gear?

Have questions about light modifiers or studio lighting?

Ever see a photo and think, “how did they do that?”

Spend too much time in Photoshop and want to get it right in camera?

Want to learn how to turn any location into a great backdrop?

Should you use 1 light, 2 lights, 10 lights?

We will keep it as simple or as complex as you wish. The participants will play a large role in shaping the direction of the class. Contact us online or reply to this email to sign up for our very first workshop March 18th (if you have already signed up, you are on the list).

I have decided to offer this workshop in response to numerous emails from professionals photographers, hobbyists and serious amateurs asking lighting questions.

As my way of giving back to the photographic community that has given so much to me, I am offering this 2-3 hour workshop at NO CHARGE. That’s right. FREE.

You come and learn from me, I am sure I will learn from you and we all have a good time shooting some fun pictures and playing with way too much gear.

I have a great model lined up (and possibly one or two more) and am looking forward to teaching you how to make some cool images. The workshop will take place on March 18th at 5pm (we want to make sure there will be some good light) in the SE Warehouse District, which provides some great backgrounds and industrial areas as well as easy access to the Eastbank Esplanade near downtown.

More details will be provided later next week. Remember to let us know what you want to learn. Check out my website and blog. If there is a photo that you want to know how it was photographed, bring it to the workshop and I will explain it and possibly recreate it for you. This is going to be very fun and it’s FREE!

Please forward this email to anyone who you think may be interested. UPDATE: Pro Photo Supply in Portland has generously offered to bring lighting gear for the workshop, so you will be able to see all kinds of different kinds of light gear. Wow. This is huge. UPDATE 2: I never knew that this would be so popular. I am overwhelmed and amazed with the amount of people that have emailed wanting to attend. Because of space constraints, I am sadly going to have to limit the number of people that can attend and the number has been maxed out (in less than 12 hours I will add). I certainly see that this is something people want and will offer more workshops in the future for sure. If you would like to be kept informed please email me and let me know.
